Michael Coden is Head of the Cybersecurity Practice at BCG Platinion, the part of Boston Consulting Group that provides deep technical expertise. Michael has over 30 years of experience in cybersecurity strategy, organization, processes, technologies, research, product design, and markets for both users and producers of cybersecurity products in all industry and public sectors. He has advised clients in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and is the North America lead for Cybersecurity at BCG.
Daniel Sergile, a director at Unit 42, is a highly accomplished information security executive with global experience managing cybersecurity policies and procedures, risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, forensics, and disaster recovery in the healthcare, financial services, and telecom industries. With his skills in managing a broad range of security technologies and his deep understanding of relevant security regulations and standards, he is frequently called upon to present at major cybersecurity conferences and summits.
Daniel joined Unit 42 in 2021 from CIOX Health, a healthcare information management company, where he was deputy chief information security officer and ran a department of more than 20 security professionals responsible for security operations, architecture, engineering, red team, network and cloud security. Among his duties were to secure a network user environment with 80 percent of employees working remotely and to implement a comprehensive security program for CIOX and four companies it acquired.
Previously, Daniel was at CertusBank, a $2 billion nationally chartered bank with 50 locations, most recently as senior vice president, director of technology solutions, and information security officer. There, he was responsible for the vision, management, and direction of the bank’s technology infrastructure, including data center strategy and operations, network architecture, mobile device management, and information security policies and procedures. Before that, as the bank’s senior VP and director of information security, he developed a comprehensive information security program from the ground up, redesigning the network architecture for maximum efficiency and security, implementing security controls to protect bank against attacks, and creating and managing the bank’s information security testing programs. He also helped create the bank’s anti-fraud framework and procedures.
Earlier in his career, he was global security officer for Rabobank International, a Dutch multinational financial services company, where he was responsible for all aspects of its global technical security strategy. He has also worked in information security for Canon Europa and Cox Communications, as well as for the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Texas. Daniel is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Certified Digital Forensic Investigator (CDFI).
Michael Sikorski is Unit 42’s CTO and vice president of Engineering. He is a world renowned expert in reverse engineering and wrote the best seller, Practical Malware Analysis. Previously at Mandiant and the NSA, he has over 20 years of experience working on high-profile incidents and leading R&D teams. He also teaches cybersecurity at Columbia University.
 Chris is a global cybersecurity executive responsible for the investigation and remediation of some of the most high-profile and most impactful security incidents throughout the past decade.
Chris joined the Palo Alto Networks Unit 42 leadership team to lead innovation and delivery for a next-generation service offerings targeted towards chief information security officers. Chris brings a unique mix of deep technical expertise across a breadth of subject areas, coupled with hands-on incident response and remediation skills. Chris is always driving innovative solutions to solve complex problems. He has spent his career building trust with board members, C-level executives, legal teams, and technical teams to guide companies through cybersecurity crisis situations and to develop and implement new processes and technologies to strengthen their defesnes and enable their response capabalities.
In recent years, Chris has led security engagements responding to the multiple destructive Shamoon attacks in the Middle East, and in the U.S. and Europe, responding to NotPetya, advanced persistent threat attacks, and insider threats.
Prior to joining Palo Alto Networks, Chris worked inside the IBM Office of the chief information security officer, leading security innovation and remediation and experiencing firsthand the pressures and responsibilities that chief information security officers are faced with. Prior to transitioning to the office of the chief information security officer, Chris led global remediation for IBM’s Security X-Force, which led him all over the world, solving clients’ most challenging security incidents and implementing customized remediation strategies for them. Prior to his time at IBM, Chris served as a director of remediation at CrowdStrike Services, where he led incident response, preparedness, and remediation strategies for clients throughout the globe. Chris spent more than 15 years working for L-3 Communications, where he first discovered his passion for security after working tirelessly to secure the organization.
